Overview

The Dental Spa has been building beautiful smiles for nearly 70 years. It began with Dr. Samueli, Dr. Yaffe's step father, in 1934. Dr. Yaffe joined the practice in 1974, and when Dr. Samueli retired in 1977, Dr. Berson joined the practice and they have been partners ever since, nearly 25 years, placing The Dental Spa among the longest-running dental practices in Philadelphia.

DR. HAROLD B. YAFFE

Dr. Yaffe majored in Biology at Upsala College from 1963-1966. In 1970, he obtained his dental degree from Temple University School of Dentistry. He served as a U.S. Army Captain for two years and has been in private practice in Philadelphia ever since. As a Clinical instructor at the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine, he taught all phases of general dentistry. Dr. Yaffe is certified in both Branemark and STERI-OSS Dental Implant Systems. Besides his involvement in dentistry, Dr. Yaffe maintains a high profile in the community.  He is a board member of the Linda Creed Breast Cancer Foundation, a Board of Trustee of Bryn Mawr Rehabilitation Hospital and V.P. of The American Jewish Committee.  Professionally, Dr. Yaffe is a past president of the Eastern Dental Society, a member of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Cosmetic Dentists and the Philadelphia Cosmetic Dental Society.

DR. PAUL J. BERSON

Dr. Berson holds a B.S. in chemistry from Indiana University and a dental degree from Case Western University School of Dentistry. He also holds prosthetic and periodontal certificates from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine. He is a clinical assistant professor of restorative dentistry at Penn’s dental school, as well as the dental expert for “Ask the Dentist” on www.intellihealth.com, Penn’s consumer Web site, where he answers questions related to cosmetic and restorative dentistry for the public. Dr. Berson is a national lecturer and author of several articles on restorative dentistry and online continuing education courses for dentists. Dr. Berson has been practicing dentistry for more than 30 years. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Academy of Dental Practice Administration, the Philadelphia Cosmetic Dental Society and the Union League.
